Finals are like sneezes...
I was watching Dancing With Stars last season and Len Goodman, while commenting on one of the performances said, "That performance was kind of like a sneeze, you know what's coming but there is nothing you can do to stop it."
My thanks to Len for the inspiration which became this little gift offering in one of our semi-annual college care packages.
This was so simple - I just got some pocket-sized kleenex packs and fastened little computer generated tags to them. The tags said: "Finals are like sneezes...you know when they're coming but there's nothing you can do to stop them. We hope yours go well."
Make a table runner....
There are so many ways to make a table runner...this one is done with the "Let's Twist" tool and directions by Marsha Bergren but they can be as simple as a hemmed strip of cloth with a design stenciled on them.
Next time you need a gift - buy a piece of fabric and make a table runner - or make one for yourself.
Orange you glad...
Recently, I saw a "box of sunshine" on Pinterest that held a lot of yellow stuff and had a little inspirational message with it and decided to morph the idea into something I could use as an offering in the semi-annual college care packages sent by our Women's Circle.
Here's how I put it together:
My husband came up with the "Orange you glad..." and I ended added "that this semester is almost history".
I bought an affordable ORANGE plastic cup ($2 from Target)
I assembled a group of orange treats. Most of these came in six-packs so I could just buy a pack of each and break them up to make six little packages.
I put the sentiment on a tag and then wrapped it all in cellophane and tied it up with a bow.
And the best part is that the cup will be useful even after the goodies are gone.
