Following my retirement, my husband and I built a home on a lake in North Carolina.  Our vision for our new home was to practice Christian hospitality by filling the house with others; both strangers and acquantances, hoping that they might also discover the peace and joys of lakeside living.

 

In the second half of life, I have the same hard questions that I asked when I was young but I am looking for answers in different places and in different ways. Contemplation and prayer are a big part that.   As I spend time in my lakeside chairs (the one on the boat house is shown in the etching, the view from the deck is below), I am learning to listen to God and to see life through new eyes.
